About the Cancer Society
For someone with cancer in your community, the simple act of picking up the phone and speaking to one of the Cancer Society’s supportive care nurses can make a world of difference.
Wherever they are in their cancer journey, the Cancer Society can help people find the right support – whether it be help understanding medical jargon or navigating the health system, massage to ease the side effects of treatment, transport to hospital appointments, accommodation during treatment or simply a listening ear.
In addition to providing support for people affected by cancer, our teams are working with communities to raise awareness and help reduce the risk of future cancers through education, advocacy and vital research.
